The Joys of Working at Home

Thank you for coming back to visit, Have you signed up for my newsletter to receive business and blogging tips? the sign up box is on the right.

Often times I sit and think to myself, Why did I choose to work from home? Well To spend more time with the family, to have a flexable schedule, and to be able to help contribute to the family financially.  I took the summer off because of the craziness of having four children running around the house at the same time as trying to work was not my cup of tea.

So Now that school is back in session I decded to get back on the saddle again,  but only blogging and sharing information that I know about. Not really trying to work or build a business.  Well one thing lead to another and I am actually working, however this time I am pacing myself and I have set a schedule to when I am working and when I am doing more family things. After all I’m home to spend time with my kids right before I got caught up in doing other things and projects that I just worked every spare second and then fit them in when I could.

Now this really makes no sense now that i think about it, So yes I am back in the saddle but its the other way around.  Im not a full time WAHM by any means.  Do I work and concentrate on my sites and do what I can to get them promoted and to earn an income yes.  However now its not my main focus  watching my children grow and being able to have the chance to have a picnic in the back yard or tea parties is my main focus.

So for me the joy is being able to have the chance to really get to know the kiddos and to be able to teach them different things that i have learned and watch them experience life.

What are your joys of working from home?

  3. I do take a small pay cut by working for myself from home, but what I save in time and energy is great. I can take breaks in my day to deal with the kids, laundry, etc. And I flat out love the commute. It was not easy to get it set up and going so that I had decent income, but once it was it was all worth it.

  8. Of course the funny thing I have noticed I catch myself working more since I work from home. I do not let things go until tomorrow, I want to get them done today.
I know that is not a joy for most, but I enjoy the challenges and it thrills me.

  9. I love working from because I can watch the birds if I want and don’t feel bad about it. I can hear the kids playing in the alley (makes me wish I was outside), the thing is, I can go outside if I want to… Nice!

Very nice to know that there are still many people who are prioritizing the family. COngrats! I am a working mom, but I see to it that I spend time with my son as much as I can. The good thing about my job is (I’m a college prof), it’s a teach and go thing (but the fall back is the many papers to check at the end).:-)
