Summer Vacation 09 is Almost Here

Here we sit Thursday morning, the second to the last day of school. The boys are excited about the activities that are going on today, so the house is a buzz with excitement and giggles. Mom is sitting around wondering what on earth are we going to do this summer its going to be a long one. It’s going to be a busy summer with tons going on, yet not much going on. We shall see how this all plays out.

As the school year comes to an end i can’t help but think about where we were last year, two boys in middle school getting ready for summer. Me again not sure I would make it through summer vacation with the kiddos driving me nuts. The picnics, trips, sleeping in then staying up late with boy giggles. Then there was mood swings and sibling rivalry. Whatever we got faced with we came though on the other end. Over all I would say it was a good summer.

Then the school year came and went really fast, this time with three boys waking every morning. We had an eventful school year with the boys all at different schools. The sporting events, conferences and other fun activities keeping us all on our toes.

Brendan is excited about starting 1st grade, Jeff isn’t to sure about going to the high school, and Alin not sure what he is thinking, one day he is excited to have summer vacation but he does love school and hates to not be away from it.

My thoughts on summer 2009 we are going to make it and have a fun summer more planned to keep these kiddos busy. Hoping to get moved but not sure yet since its hard to find a big enough house for us. Maybe even a trip to California. And, of course planning to wake up every morning with all 4 of them.

So a big Have a great summer to all the moms of school aged kiddos. Take this summer and have fun and enjoy it, it will go by really fast.

  1. I think you’re right you have to keep them occupied – sometimes you have to do things that don’t interest you but they enjoy. Its a really hard balance when you work at home and can’t take the whole summer vacation off – i’ve found creating lots of craft ideas keeps them interested….for an hour or so!

  2. I bet the kids will love the Cali trip. Boys love to build forts. I don’t know what your property is like but getting the kids together and building a simple tree fort or even something on the ground would be a wonderful experience for everyone.
