How Google Gave Me A Whipping &
I Was Completely Unaware

In the Spring of 2005, a parenting website I owned was banned from Google. To this date, I still don't know why and it doesn't matter because that's not the important part of the story. Most people who get banned will never know why, unless they were practicing sneaky search engine techniques, which I certainly don't endorse.

This website was receiving about 700-800 visitors per day for quite some time...but somewhere along the way, Google dropped all the pages out of its index and I was down to about 200-250 visitors per day.

Guess what? I didn't even notice. In fact, I only found out when a fellow Internet marketer, who was looking around my sites, emailed me to ask about it. I was busy working on my business and wasn't spending my days eyeballing my traffic stats (which really isn't the best way to be spending your time). All I knew was that my income remained steady, so I didn't see a reason for concern.

Think about it, that traffic loss in that one site was equal to over 16,000 visitors per month. My business survived and you can survive bumps in the road like this too.

So back to the question. How do you avoid having these disruptions devastate your business?
