Well as I was growing up I enjoyed reading, I loved getting lost in books and going to different places. I found it being a great escape from life. Well as becoming a parent I lost that love, between taking care of the kids and the keeping the house.

Back in Oct a friend on Facebook said she just read a really good book it sparked my interest, So I was going to visit my mom figured it would be a great time to try reading something new. Well that book was Leah’s Choice: Pleasant Valley Book One Well this book is amazing I ended up reading the next two books in the series with in a week or so. Since then I have been reading about 2-3 books a week. Most are the Amish romances I didn’t realize how much missed reading so much.

Along with my love of reading back, it has also made me want to go and do more baking, crafting and leading a more simple life. This has in turned made life with the kids so much easier and happier. I am not sure if its because that was missing is now back or if because I see these women doing these things that I can do, and I do them which also helps relax me. I am not totally sure but I know that what ever the reason life in the Wilson house has begin to turn and get better.

Is there something that you use to do that you stopped doing for what ever reason?

Getting people to hold parties and shows for your direct sales business is not always easy, but compared to recruiting team members, finding hostesses is a piece of cake. People are naturally cold about joining someone else in direct sales businesses. However, there are ways to get them to warm up to the idea. Here are some common objections you may come across when interviewing a potential new recruit?

Too Expensive
“I don’t have X number of dollars to invest right now.” – The best way to respond to this is by asking when do they think they would be able to have the money and to offer saving suggestions so they can come up with the money. If your potential recruit is truthful and really is interested in joining the company, she’ll likely follow your instructions and work toward gathering up the money somehow, someway.

Suggestions You Can Give for Saving Money

• Foregoing the daily cappuccino or latte.
• Taking a sack lunch instead of eating out.
• Skipping their weekly night out and putting that money away, at least until they’ve raised enough to purchase the start up kit.

Encourage them by gently reminding them that they are starting a new business which takes time, effort and money. Also let the recruit know you are there to help her succeed.

Sales – YUCK!
“I am not a good sales person.” – My favorite response to this one is, “Either am I.” That’s the honest to goodness truth. You don’t have to be a “sales” person to sell something you love and believe in. Hopefully you are approaching only people who truly love and believe in the product just like you do. Remind your potentials being themselves and remaining open and honest about their experience with the product is the best way to sell it. They don’t have to use any fancy sales talk, just be themselves. Always, always remind your recruit you’re there to help her succeed in her business.

There Are Only 24 Hours in a Day!
“I don’t have time to start or run a business.” – How much time do you actually invest in your business? Are you in it part time? Did you start out part time and build it up to a full time career? Were you working another full time job when you started out and now are working your direct sales full time and your other job part time? Let your potential new recruit in on how you’ve gotten where you are today. Perhaps you are just starting out too, so let your recruit know how you are using your valuable time to reach your goals. Help her to see how she can do the same.

Don’t let objections stop you from pressing forward to reaching your goals. You may know a certain hostess who would make a great recruit. After talking with her you determine she truly doesn’t have the time or perhaps she simply lacks the desire. It’s okay to let it go. You never know, she may change her mind in the future. You don’t want to destroy any chance of having her join your team by being too pushy. Some people simply need more time. Patience and perseverance are virtues…even in direct sales.

If you’ve been in direct sales any length of time or have held at least one show, you have probably already heard at least two or three objections. Don’t you just love the excuses reasons people come up with as to why they don’t want to buy your product, host a party or join the company? I’ve probably heard them all and through the years I’ve learned some effective ways to overcome these objections. Why of course I’m going to share these little nuggets of gold with you. No sense in withholding the valuable pieces of information from you. Let’s jump right in.

No Money

Here’s a typical reason used for not purchasing any of your product, “I can’t afford to buy anything right now.” In these tough economical times, this may very well be true. The easiest, and best way to overcome this objection is…can you guess?

You guessed it, tell them about the amazing discount or free products they will receive for having a show of their own. If you’ve coached your hostess properly ahead of time, then she should be talking about the free product or gifts she’s receiving just for having a few friends over. Free product and discounts is the number one reason most hostesses have a show.

If they don’t want to have a show of their own, another thing you can offer to them is having them purchase one item at a time. Say they want an entire set and the set costs $150. It’s typically cheaper to buy the set at once than it is to buy each piece separately, but if she can’t shell out 150 bucks at once (and understandably so), suggest she buy each piece separately.

Or suggest the opposite. Show her how much she will save by purchasing the set all at once as opposed to purchasing them separately. The idea is to give your customer options. The more options she has, the easier it will be for her to say yes to one of them and make a purchase.

Another common objection we often hear is from someone you know would make an awesome hostess. She often says things like, “I’ve had parties before, and no one shows up” or “I never have good enough sales to get the hostess gift I really wanted” and “I don’t have time to have a show for you”. How do you overcome those objections? Let’s take them one at a time.

Been There – Done That

“I’ve had parties before and no one shows up.” – The best response to this objection is to let your potential hostess know you will help her with getting her friends and family to some to her show. Help her get the invitations in the mail, make phone calls, send emails, etc. Some people really do need hand holding and guidance. Remember, your success depends on her success. You will always be more successful when you help someone else be successful.

“I never have good enough sales to get the hostess gift I really want.” – Again, encourage your hostesses to get those outside orders by placing enough brochures and order forms in her hands. Outside sales really boost the overall party sales. Place in her hands a list of people she might not normally think of to invite or give brochures too. Let her know you won’t leave her to do everything on her own. Give her tips and instructions about what to do and say before, during and after the show. Coaching your hostesses is one of the best ways to increase sales.

Too Busy

“I don’t have time to have a show for you.” – Tell her you understand how busy she is and that’s exactly why you chose her. It’s proven that busy people are the ones that get things done. Have her get her calendar and show her how little time she will have to invest in order to get the products she wants for free. Always show why being a hostess is going to benefit her, not you. Let her know you are here for her, to help her succeed.

In direct sales there will always be objections, but if you are honest with your customers and hostesses about how and why you are successful, how much time you actually spend working your business and help them be organized and good managers of their time, they will trust you and help your business flourish.

So many online business owners fail or give up the fight because they think too big when trying to market to consumers. There are thousands if not millions of different online businesses on the Internet today. No matter how many there are, you can still get your ‘piece’ of the Internet pie. But, in order to do that, you will need think smaller and find a niche to build your business around.

A niche is what will help you stand out from the crowd. With so many online businesses out there, who is a potential customer going to choose, when they want to buy a product that these companies offer? Those who have a niche have a much higher chance of winning the sale.

What Does Having A Niche Mean?
It’s time to put your thinking cap on. Now, imagine yourself standing in line with nine other business owners selling the same product. A customer walks up, anxious to buy that product, but is overwhelmed by the choices of who to buy from.

You’re determined to be the one they choose, so you have to show the customer why you should be their number one choice. This will be something that will make you stick out from all the other business choices. It could be the guarantee you present to back up your product or the knowledge you have about the product. A niche will show consumers what you have that the rest of the businesses don’t. This is what makes you appealing and gets you that sale from the customer.

Advantages of a Niche

The main advantage of a niche is to make you stand out in the online community, but there are some more advantages of finding your niche:

It gives you the opportunity to refine your online marketing to a certain group of people.

Those who try to market to just about everyone are only wasting their time and money. If you spend a lot of time and money marketing to 100 people and only 10 actually buy, you lose out on potential profits. The reason is because you spent all that money marketing to those who don’t buy; in this example, it would be 90 people. If you market to 10 that are most likely to buy, and they buy or most of them buy, you will see more of a profit.

It gives you the chance to give your target audience exactly what they want.

Your target audience will come from your niche. With researching techniques, you can determine exactly what products your target market is looking for or what they don’t want. You increase your sales by providing them with what they do want instead of wasting your time and effort pushing things they don’t.

It gives you the opportunity to start building credibility as an expert in your field.

By choosing a more refined group of people to market to, it becomes much easier to establish credibility with your target audience. The more of an expert you become to those potential customers, the more likely they will buy from you for a long time to come.

If you don’t currently have a niche for your business, consider getting one. If you want your business to become a success, you will need to find a niche. Without it, you’re a small business owner lost in a sea of thousands of other business owners. Think small when deciding who to market to. Small = Big where profits are considered.
