Planning the Menu for the week of Dec 1st

Well last time I did this I said it was going to be a regular thing. Well I forgot.  I have to get back in the organizing my life thing things get crazy here at dinner time when I don’t.

On to the Menu

  • Monday: Dinner out
  • Tuesday: Steak Soup (Veggies, steak, potatoes)
  • Wednesday: Baked Chicken, Steamed Veggies, Wild rice
  • Thursday: Grilled Mustard Chops, baked potatoes, green beans
  • Friday: Taco Salad
  • Saturday: Chili Corn Bread
  • Sunday: Roast with Potatoes Carrots and celery

Homemade Cornbread Southern Style

Cornbread Southern Style

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted shortening

Instructions:

Mix dry ingredients together in mixing bowl. Stir in buttermilk and egg. Grease muffin tin or loaf mold with shortening or oil. Pour batter. (fill muffin tins about half full each) Bake 15 minutes at 450 degrees F.
