Plate of homemade chocolate covered pretzles and peanuts

If you don’t know my now I love chocolate of any kind. Last year I discovered an easier way to make my favorite chocolate treats, with this stuff called Almond Bark at first I thought I want a chocolate flavor not an almond flavor, to my surprise it does not taste like Almonds at all.  This discovery got my ideas starting and things turning in my head wanting to create more treats.

To make this it does take a little time with each pretzel but other then that it is fairly easy.

Ingrediants for Candy

Ingredients

  • Chocolate flavored Almond Bark
  • Vanilla Flavored Almond Bark (optional used just for top drizzle)
  • Pretzels Any shape is fine my daughter wanted to use the tiny classic ones
  • Peanuts

(there are sprinkles in the picture, My daughter wanted to try to add them but with the chocolate you can’t see them,  The ball sprinkles are visible if you want to add those)

Supplies Needed

  • Microwave Bowl
  • Wax paper
  • Mixing spoon
  • Fork

How to do it

Place the chocolate almond bark in bowl. I use 6 squares which is half you can do the whole pack if you prefer. Pop in microwave for 90 Seconds then Mix,  These will Not look like they are melting so you have to stir it to make it smooth. Pop back in to the microwave and mix every 20 to 30 seconds. The almond bark does not get really hot it does get warm so your looking for no more lumps rather then a temperature.

Tips of mixing almond Bark

After it is smooth drop a a few pretzels in to the bowl take the fork cover then then scoop it out then tap on the side of the bowl to let any access off. Place on wax paper and repeat.  See super easy like I said this is the ‘hard’ part more time consuming then hard.  I Usually do about a total of two handfuls.

After the handfuls are done there is still some left in the bowl, Pop it back in the microwave for about 20 seconds to loosen it up a little.  Drop a handful or so of peanuts in there and mix  add more if it is to chocolaty. Take a small spoon and scoop them out place on wax paper.

For the topping if you choose to do it, melt one square when it is smoothed take a clean fork dip it then drizzle it over the pretzels.

These do not take very long to set so enjoying these yummy treats isn’t something you have to really wait for. These are super easy and safe to make with your kiddos it does get a little messier with kiddo help but it is fun.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do

I’ve been wanting some of these ever since you mentioned it on Twitter the other day! I think I could actually handle making these myself. It doesn’t sound too hard (even for me & my inability to do anything in the kitchen. LOL).

But have you tried chocolate covered raisins, they are one of my favourites:)

  5. Those look great! I love chocolate pretzels when the pretzels are especially salty. Something about the way it clashes with the chocolate tastes great to me.
