Brendan and His Flute
On Sunday afternoon we went to my aunts house. This is something my mom does every Sunday to work on her Flutes. Brendan brought stuff todo but instead of wanting to do his stuff he wanted to make a flute. They had a few that were done to the point just finger holes bird and finish.
Brendan found the one he wanted, then picked a bird carved bird for his flute. Then he and grandma played with where he wanted this finger holes. Brendan then with Grandma (aunt) Judys help put little holes in there he did the hammering.
The holes got drilled Brendan just watched since it was with power tools and he knew better. The flute was being tuned perfectly. So Now he has a perfect sounding flute.
We went back to my moms all was fine On Monday I woke up and he was blowing on his flute it sounded not so good. He was standing there putting the bird figuring out the flutes Sweet Spot. they have finished with the spray and now it is packed and ready to go.
I think it is great that he has such interested in this. I want them to grow up with the Native American traditions as much as possible. Plus this was a great memory for all of us.
