I was sitting here and got a call from Ned telling me about this boy who killed a 17 month old little girl for crying while he was watching TV. I then went to CNN and read the story there. Here are a few points that stuck out
LAUDERHILL, Florida (AP) — A 12-year-old boy beat a toddler to death with a baseball bat because she was crying while he was trying to watch TV, authorities said.
Why on would anyone have a 12 year old babysit for them? OK I understand that some children at the age of 12 are mature enough to do it but it is obvious that this boy was not. I would not trust my preschoolers with my 12 year old alone. I just do not understand this. On the other hand I wonder what this mother must be going through loosing two children she loves.
The boy, who was not identified, was arrested Saturday on first-degree murder charges, Lauderhill police spokesman Lt. Mike Cochran said.
Sad but true I am glad he is getting charged with first-degree murder, I mean he did commit murder. He deserves what he gets.
Cochran said the boy confessed to authorities that he was home alone Friday baby-sitting a 10-year-old girl and the 17-month-old girl and became angry when the toddler began to cry. The relationship between the three was not clear.
Again why would he be babysitting a 10 year old and a toddler? However, I am so glad he did confess, I doubt that will have anything to do with his trial or anything however at least he did admit what he did wrong. But Babies cry why couldn’t he at least try to figure out what was wrong. True maybe he did we will probably never know.
This is only part of the story that I had thoughts on. You can read the full story at CNN.com
On the page at CNN there was a reference to a little girl being killed by a 12 year old boy He got charged with first degree murder THEN he was released 3 years later. I Really hope this does not happen to this boy who did this Friday.
But it does make you think why are the children these days so violent is it the parents, peers, the media or what? I personally don’t think the parents are always to blame sometimes yes but not always. I Honestly think that a lot of it has to do with low self esteem and peers. We as parents do what we can to provide a warm and loving home to our children and if they are getting picked on at school all the time and feeling like they have to hold it in, or not say anything i fear of being hurt more or not believed. It can lead a child to be an angry child, Yes a lot of times parents should step in but what if the parent does not know what is going on, at home they are normal or maybe some change but the parents think Its hormones and try to talk to their child and then get no where so they stop pushing. At what point is a parent suppose to stop pushing to get answers from their child?
Another thing that I wonder is do these boys have other problems. Now days there are a lot of children who have psychological issues and the parents are not able to provide the help they need for several reasons a lot insurance companies are a joke when it comes to mental health issues, Some times they have none at all, Some parents are afraid to admit they have a special needs child, sometimes they just don’t know or recognize what is there, I mean I can go on there is so much that prevents special needs children from getting the help that they need.
I realize that it is possible that these boys were just angry children this is something we may never know.
What do you think about this? and why children today are so violent?
Thank you for reading my thoughts on this

I saw this on the new here too! How sad!
I did not hear where the parents of the baby were though.
I wonder why in the world they would have even thought about allowing a 12 year old to babysit for them in the 1st place?

I haven’t heard where they were either. And I think that is the million dollar question Why was he watching them. I just think that parents should take in to consideration the dangers that they may be putting their children in.
