Well here I am sitting in the living, the second day this week I have had to call Ned and have him pick up a kiddo on his way home from work. First it was Brendan on Tuesday and today its Jeff. Both schools called with ‘You need to pick him up he is running a fever’, Since DH is close to home it was easier to have him stop and pick them up.
Brendan is home because he has a viral infection waiting results to see if it is a chest infection. Not sure what is going on with Jeff. Becky also has a fever this morning. So its going to be a long day with all three of them sick. Alin had a fever and didn’t feel well last weekend so hopefully he isn’t going to get sent home too.
I just hate it when viruses and colds just slam in to the house like this. Who knows perhaps it is easier when they are all sick at the same time so it can leave and not go in circles hitting everyone over and over again. At this point it hasn’t hit Ned or myself, Hope this don’t hit us too.
So that is where I have been why I haven’t been tweeting or anything all that much. I am going to try to make rounds and check on everyone soon.
I also wanted to share a small little tip I learned to break a fever when we got Brendan home from school his fever was 103, medications would not break it for nothing So i did a little googling to find something to try. I have no clue what site it was however I read to cut a potato in half (the long way) then put it on the bottom of the feet and cover with socks. I thought Ok this is nuts, but at this point it was worth a shot. So I put the potato on his feet covered with daddys socks and waited. Ned and Brendan both thought I was nutty for doing this but neither said anything. Well aboiut 30 minutes later he was all sweaty I wiped it off and he was cool the temp was broke he was still at 101ish but it finally broke, Since then it has not gotten high again. I am going to do this with Rebecca today too if it is above 102 I figure 101 is kinda needed to fight the infection and illness. I hope youfind this tip helpful too, this was a total lifesaver for us.
Thanks for visiting.
