The commute can add up to a lot of time. With DHs job, I figured it out that the amount of time he drives on a 'normal' shift he is on the road just about the same amount of time a regular 9-5 job. He works 10 days a week on the road between 1.5 and 2 hours each way depending on weather and traffic.

That is so true. I also think many newbies also get confused with a work at home job vs a work at home business.

I agree with Baby Boys comment. We need to have some good office place for not getting distracted from disturbances. Really working from helps us in not wasting much time for traveling.

Hi Tamara. Nice Post. I'm a work at home mom too and I'm enjoying it. Although working at home is not perfect, there are too many distractions especially if you cannot afford to your own office yet. Still the advantages far outweighs the disadvantages and I would like to encourage your readers to just go ahead and start to try their wings.

There are many jobs available. One tip I could share is that work at home jobs is not a get rich quick scheme. It's real work, with real deadlines and demands and working hard is just but a part of the recipe for success.
